What about felt or cork like an old school machinist's chest? I don't care for the black liners- you can't see grease and it's just too dark. I think cork is a great drawer liner, but I don't know how non-slip it is.

I use burbor carpet (spelling?) From homedepot for my box at work as they get nasty I replace them matcos low end liners wrinkle very bad.

what about the shelf liner from bed bath and beyond. it's about half the price of the Lowe's Kobalt Zerust, but I have no idea if it works as well...
