Tool box trophy

Hi folks,

I just found this in my tool box. It's a 1/4-20 stainless. It had seized in an automated welding job. I drilled it out, in place, by hand.
I've kept this for 20+ years.

Some days it's better to be lucky than good

Do you keep any trophies ?

That's some precision drilling right there! I have kept a few trophies but they usually end up in the bin once I'm sick of them lying about

I keep some. Some to show what can be done - like the OP's drilled out bolt (good work - and by hand at that - although when I previously mentioned doing work like that I was chastised by a GJ member as though I where some overconfident jerk who would likely kill someone by my "hubris" ).
Other stuff is just interesting mechanical trivia: I have about a half-pound chunk of steel shrapnel from a vacuum compressor I recently acquired. Biggest chunk I've found from one of these failures since I started in 95. I keep it to show people how bad it can be when they put this stuff together wrong and it comes apart because of it (imagine if it had made it out of the unit and hit someone / something).

We don't drink that much in the garage...err..well there was the time a dart hit a bike...lol. I do not let my Friends throw darts next to the tool box really I use it for holding up paperwork for the past few months...

I used to have an empty hand soap can filled with stuff I found in flat tires that I repaired, not really a "trophy"
