I guess others would consider my draws a bit over loaded.

I guess mine would be also.

Yea, I'm not gonna dig guys. If I can't lay it out so I can open and grab is full. I have spent some cash on organizational aids only to buy something else later trying to find stuff that works the best. This is pretty much how my box looks today. I sold my Craftsman boxes because of the problems you are having with the drawer depth. I rely like the HF box for the cash but I replaced 2 C-man stacks with it so the floor space was about the same for me.

Yeah, I agree 100% I want to be able to go to my box and grab the exact tool I need without digging. I dont want to waste time digging around looking for what I need. It is very easy to keep everything clean and orginzed (and make sure nothing is missing) when everything has a place.

Yep, that must be it. I must have forgot about that while building this...

And here is its third pass (9 psi) with about 20% converter slip and the wrong gear

I should just give them all away because they obviously get no use at all...

i'm in a similar situation where my tools are not in "my" space. my opinions:
take the ratchets and extensions and put them in the socket drawer. there is NO reason that stuff needs it's own drawer. also i can't imagine a need for all those screwdrivers. i've got half that many and i use about 6 of them. dido on the fishing tackle boxes for electrical stuff. i haven't gotten my electrical stuff organized yet but that's how i'll do it if i can't get my own space this year.

Another suggestion. Alot of room could be freed up if you purchased some peg board and mounted it on the wall. Hang a set of sae and metric wrenches on it, hang some of your screwdrivers, your wire brush and grinding/ cutoff discs. Get creative. $10 spent on some pegboard will go along way. Save your money for a box that you really want.

Im in the same boat as you, even have the same 4 drawer bottom with the useless deep drawers. Im keeping an eye out for a bottom with more and shallower drawers and mabie a deeper top chest.

bolt all your socket rails to the underside of your top box lid, add a strut to help lift the weight if need be.
