Ok we all have tool boxes full of our favorite tools right? Now who prefers them plastered with stickers or without?

When I got my first 2 boxes back in the 80's I stuck just about every performance sticker on them. Got a third box and did the same and now with my last box the only stickers I've put on the were 2 Snap On stickers and a sticker that makes my box look like a real Snap On box (which it ain't)

I'm starting my collection on the inside of the top lid. Why not!

They have to be really cool to make it to my box. On the underside of the lid to my 40" Cman I have a NHRA oval that must be about 14"size dead centered. I also have a 1960's vintage Champion rectangular box, appx 12" long on the side of my box, but it is as old as it looks so I think it's cool. I have also been toying with the idea of adding an extra lady luck windsield sticker to my box that is about 6 inches tall.

Nah, I don't think i'll ever put stickets on my big chest. I just have a decimal equivalents chart on the side. But that's about it. I have a few small boxes with stickets all over though.

I prefer sticker-less except for one that reads:

"No Tools Loaned".

I hate stickers anywhere in the garage, especially on the tool box. But I do have two on the inside lid of my box. One is a USCF sticker from many years ago. The other is an old Snap On sticker which reads "I invest in precious metals... Please don't ask to borrow them".

I have one each way. My old Cornwell rollaway I stickered up with all of the stickers that came with the mods to my 5.0 and I used it for car show dash plaques. My newer Mustang-themed tool box is left as is. The graphics that came on it are quite enough.

Where did you find THAT sticker?
I want one!

Don't have one yet, but I've seen various styles around for years. Here's some:

Jessie James' also had one on "his" box on Monster Garage. Much bigger than the ones above.

apparently those stickers on that matco box add value as well since you can buy a brand new pro-formance box like that for a few hundred less.

but to answer the question, i have a few stickers on mine, but it certainly isn't cluttered like that one is.

Haha I was just going to say that. One or two is good, but Ed brought up a good point... If you dont use it or you cant relate to it it shoudlnt be on there. Its like the imort guys (with thier neons might I add) that have stickers from 5 different nitrous brands and think thier CAI and fart can will take them into the 11's

I have stickers on the inside of my lid. None on the outside. I pick them up at swap meets for the look. Perfect Circle piston rings, Rat Fink, Lady luck, Glass Slipper, So-Cal, etc..... No Greddy, Brembo, rice ****. A couple small beer logos too.

ya I got some ,the NHRA member one , a moon equipment one , the jegs and summit ones and a harland sharp one from my rockers on my truck , and My A&M Auto Mechanics union local 701 one right smack center of the top ( I earned that one that hard way and I never worked on a car, just tugboats :headscrat ) and my cheapie side cab is covered with the motherload as it was a scratch and dent item ( more like thrown of the truck at 60 )and makes it look better, my little boxes are covered with car badges from cars of my past may they rest in pieces . as tfor the no tools loaned decal sears used to sell them in the big craftsman sticker pack .

I've got a few stickers on all my boxes. Nothing crazy, just stuff I've used over the years.

I think a few stickers adds a little bit of a story to the tool boxes. Kinda tells someone whats been going on around the garage or around the tool box if you've moved or changed jobs. It's fun, because noncar guys are always asking about the stickers and asking for stories surrounding them.

My 20 year old box has stickers all over it. It lots like my history. The first stickers series where all high performance car related, then the next series are from when I got into showing VWs and restoring, after that all boat related. Now the new box has no stickers however the no tools loaned may be one to use.

I loan tools all the time, my friends and neighbors dont have to buy one off things they may use once and they take good care of my stuff. There are a couple of us that share major tools that have intermitant use. I have great neighbors and its something I can do in return, they can come in anytime and get something, a bolt or fitting or peice of steel.

No stickers yet....... not sure if I ever will. My Craftsman boxes are just to pretty right now. There are some on the front of all three boxes showing that they are ball bearing slides. I'd probably try to remove them if I wasn't to worried I'd screw up the paint....I waited many years to get a nice set of tool boxes so I think I'll just set back and enjoy the view. My wife caught me the other night waxing them. There is just some things women will never understand.......

Make sure you wipe them down with speed shine occasionally to keep the nice luster. :willy_nil

I never understood people who put stickers on their cars. unless I'm sponsored, No decals on ANY of my toys.

let me understand this. You want me to pay top dollar for your product AND be a rolling advertising for you???

Now toolboxes are a different story. Sticker them to death!!!

I also thought about running a thick black stripe 8" or so around the perimiter of the shop (between the white and grey). Inside the black I would fill it up with stickers!

That would be a cool idea. I just can't imagine how many parts you would need to buy, or butts you would need to kiss in order to fill up a strip that is at a minumum, 75 ft long!

I do not mind seeing a few vintage old school decals on early rods, but the sticker must look like it came out of the way back machine, just like the car!

Not to highjack the thread, but as a product of the 1960's / 70's I remember getting like a hundred or more STP stickers and plastering them on almost anything they would stick to! I covered everything but the tires of my old cheater slicked Schwinn sting ray. Did anyone else do likewise?

And if they don't like it, you just "express yourself", right? MMMMM, yeahhh...

I have only a small few on the outside of my box. The biggest one is from Flyrite choppers when I worked for them. The rest on the inside of the lid. What I don't like are people who just get the stickers because they are cool. If I have used the product I will put the sticker on my box, But not always some a just to big and gaudy.
