For a point of reference: Kyoto Tool Co (KTC), as far as I know the largest Japanese hand tool company, pulled in 63.3 million USD in revenue over the past year, which puts it in a circle about half the size of Ingersoll Rand.

The big money is in power tools these days, it would seem.

The craziest one to me is Makita, look how big their piece of the pie is with only one brand. Crazy

Hilti is the one that surprised me. I wonder if that figure includes heavier power tools.

I wonder where Fein fits in.

Bosch is sort of a strange setup, it's massive but privately held.. Robert Bosch's descendants get 8% share, and the bosch charity holds 92%.

So does that mean you can rationalize buying bosch tools as donating to a charity? hmmm... I wonder if that is tax deductible.
