Tool cabinet ID? Vidmar?

I picked up this industrial cabinet last night and I'm trying to figure out what brand it is, there are no manufacturer's logos anywhere on it, and it's been repainted at least once.

From searching this site and pics online it looks most like a Stanley Vidmar cabinet but I'm not positive on that. I got a bunch of dividers with it, but would like to know what I've got in case I need more.

Also curious if anyone has recommendations regarding the proper product for lubing the rollers and slides?

This thing is a beast, even after removing all the drawers it took all I had to slide it out of the trailer and stand it upright. Looking forward to loading it up with all my specialty tools, parts and hardware.

Congrats on the new cabinet. You'll soon be wondering how you got along without it. You might want to pull the drawers and look for a sticker on the inside. Pictures of the drawer roller assemblies will also help with the ID. Can I ask where you got it and what it set you back? You'd think they would be all over Craig's around here, but that's not the case. My most recent Lista is a new scratch and dent item from Motorhead Exraordinaire. I used 3 in 1 oil to lube the rollers in the other Lista's I refurbished.

I have a pair of Stanley-Vidmar cabinets now about 35 years old and it sure looks like a Vidmar. Mine works as good as new except a little rust that has been treated. I live in south Texas not far from the coast and many years with the cabinets real close to salt water bay in Corpus Christi. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I'm in the process of planning a 40 x 50 x 14 metal building and will be needing a lot more cabinets, however, right now my attention is planning my foundation and workshop layout so I order the correct size building.

Looks like a Vidmar to me... I've got 15 of them and love them. I've got several that look just like that configuration, except being blue.

Your description of how heavy your cabinet is fits exactly the description my wife has for the Vidmar stuff she and her company used to spec for government projects. I'll see if I can get her to look at the photos and see what she thinks, but 440-6 Shaker probably called out the answer already.

Wife finally got home and looked at the photos. Said "Yeah, Vidmar drawers used to have insets with those slots in them".

Very nice. Mind sharing the background story, how you found it, dimensions and what it set you back?

X what ever number that says it is a vidmar. I would love to find one of those and replace my standard tool boxes with it. The amount of storage space and weight they provide for the amount of space they take up is unsurpassed. Yes, much better than even snap on in my opinion.

It looks like a LISTA brand cabinet to me, very well built. Congrat's !

Congrats. I have a couple of those and I love them. I wish I had space for more. It think my cabinet was around 350# empty of course. Possibly more. I had to use a jacks to get it off it's back on the trailer.

Thanks for the responses, I looked inside for any labels when I had the drawers out, but didn't see anything. Thinking those who say its a vidmar are correct.

I got it from my wife's Aunt after helping manage her estate after her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He's been in a nursing home for a few years now, and I've spent countless hours helping clean up the property and liquidating some of his assets to help her pay the bills. I didn't pay anything for the cabinet, but if you were to add up the time, fuel and other costs spent it would probably be way more than what a new one costs.

Yes, it's a Vidmar. Listas have different drawer pulls.
