Tool Cabinet Purchase,When?

Guys with Christmas coming up and the new yr I am in market for low budget tool cabinet.I was thinking that maybe there would be Christmas deals or end of the yr deals but are they out there?Guys my budget is along the lines of HF,Lowes,HD,Sears and I am looking at the base cabinet that HD has I believe is at 398.00 which later I will get the upper cabinet if when it may go on sale.So my question is,when is the best time to look for these tool cabinets that are actually on sale?Thanks for any suggestions

I don't think there is a better value than the 44" HF box bought one a month or so ago and just ordered the top chest this morning with the 15% off coupon. All the box I should need as a DIY'er

Last time I got a tool box it’s was on a 3 day Black Friday weekend sale at HF. I believe this be when prices are going to be the lowest. Although they been having these 15% and 20% no exclusions coupons lately.

If you buy the Husky cut some strips of at least 1/4” plywood to place on the vertical outside drawer walls. I had mine a very short time and don’t bang my stuff around but sitting one day with the sun just right showed dings from the tools inside. Didn’t take long for it to happen either. Probably most of the cheaper options are similar.

I bought two of those last year after Black Friday for $298 each. Hard to beat that amount of storage for the money. Mine sit on blocks (removed casters) with a top made from two pieces of butchers block. At $398 each, I’d go US General for a few bucks more.

I would definitely take advantage of the Harbor Freight 15% off. I have handled both and I believe the the Harbor Freight is a better built tool cab

I'm not a HF fanboy by any means, but after comparing all of the consumer grade boxes in that price range, the HF box is the better built box.

Look at Homak if you decide you want something nicer than the HF.
