I tried to document this project but all the assembly pictures were lost, so i'll just show a few of the finished project.
Just a few notes about the cabinet, the frame is made from a 2 x 6 milled to one inch thick. The panels are oak plywood with aluminum diamond plate on the outside. The tool holders were machined fron scrap I have laying around. The tools are what was in the top drawer of the work bench they look better now.
The first picture is of the front.

I wish I had one-tenth of your skill. That is a beautifully designed and executed cabinet.

More like a "Tool Display Cabinet". Very nice! So nice I'd consider replacing the diamond plate with something you can see through.

That is very cool! I like it. I prefer to have all my tools visible, instead of hidden in drawers. Your method has the best part of a peg board (tools easily visible) and yet it can also be closed up to prevent dust and grime on the tools. And, it is custom, one of my favorite things!

I've been (VERY slowly) working on custom tool boards of my own...

Looks great! What keeps the screwdrivers from falling out when opening and closing the doors?

totally awesome...
My bench is always so piled up I would either have to leave it open all the way all the time, Or abandon my tools inside the cabinet, only to be seen after semi-annual cleanings!

Then again, if I had the organizational fore thought to put something like that together, maybe my bench wouldn't be such a mess!
