Sorry if this is a redundant thread - I thought I read one discussing the comparison but now can't find it.....

I'm a new poster here - in the midst of acquiring stuff, planning my garage layout, etc. I really like the Masterforce tool cabinets at Menard's. Everytime I see them I'm more and more impressed of the fit, finish, quality of drawer slides, etc. The problem I'm having is that I'm not yet 100% on a green color scheme for my garage (walls are white, steel cabinets would be painted a green/black combo to coincide with the tool cabinet). I really like all the red schemes that I've seen here, but the thought of the red with a green cabinet just doesn't work for me.

Has anyone scoped out both the Craftsman and Masterforce boxes to make a judgement as to which Craftsman would be similar in construction? I've already looked at the HF box, but wasn't impressed at it's quality. I do plan on going back to HF for a second look (considering there are so many here who have them, maybe I just saw a bad one - that can happen with anything).

i'll 1st say that i dont care for the drawer size and layout of the masterforce boxs ive looked at.
HF's wrinkle pink paint isnt all that attractive to me.

ultimately it depends on how much money you want to spend.

ifineededtool storage for my garage, and didnt want to spend money on truck brand boxes, the HF or masterforce would be my choice over a CM

I went through the same dilemma a couple months back. I was not keen on the green paint either, but in the end I went masterforce. I have the 41" top and bottom and went back to buy two more 36" bottoms. The craftsman boxes while look nice and have more color variety just doesnt seem near as well built or heavy duty. Plus masterrforce is cheaper, but that was not a factor in my decision.

Can you provide a web-link to this box? Was it a normal sale or a one-off clearance item? Either way, that's a good price assuming it's a ball-bearing drawer cabinet.
