About once a year I pull my tools out and give them a decent spit shine. It's mainly a wipe down of WD40 or PB and then a semi clean cloth. As of going to town polishing them up? Nah, these things make me money, they get used just about every day, they are going to start looking worn from me handling them all the time. I've got too many arms in the fire to sit in the shop and clean tools, but if that is what blows your skirt up, I ain't gonna stop ya!

I have never liked grabbing a tool for something and getting a hand full of grease before I even use it. Therefore, when I am working with my tools I keep a small bin for all the ones that gets used while on the job. after I am done they get cleaned with some WD40 and wiped down with a clean rag before going back into the box or drawer. This way when I want to reach for a tool its always clean and it does not always get dirty if the job is a clean one. Here is my motto: A clean tool is a happy tool and a happy tool is a safe tool :)
