Tool Cart Suggestion

My dad is looking to get a new tool cart to expand his tool set. His most important priority is something that can fit a 24" caliper (he's a machinist), and something with either the same or better quality than his Kennedy cart. I don't know exactly what he currently has but it looks like the Kennedy "Industrial Series" Model 277. Any suggestion?

What is your budget and timeframe? A used 33" bottom box, such as a snap on KR657, KR655? one of the old matco or cornwell equivalents would be ideal for machinist tools. To get 24" inside drawers you typically need to step up to a 29+" bottom box, without having to go on the diagonal.

If he has the space, there is always "The official tool box of garage journal" aka the Harbor Freight 44" for ~$350

Good gravy, he isn't kidding!!
Makes your wallet pucker doesn't it.
Whats sad is in 16 years my main big roller box has only gone up a couple of hundred dollars. i paid just under a grand for this style back in '98
http://www.alltimetools.com/p-679-kennedy-39-15-drawer-maintenance-tool-cart.aspx As with all things you need to shop around, but kennedy is cheap compared to snap on. for the average person(and my self at times) its hard to justify the $$, harbor freight/master craft/kolbalt/craftsman is more than fine. If it wasnt the fact i use them at work, i most like would never of brought them.

So I went to HF and checked out some General Pro tool cart. They're definitely not on par with what my dad current has. I guess we're just gonna have to get another Kennedy. They seem to be the best for the price.
