So I've been searching around for a tool cart, but I'm not really sure which one to get... I like the 1-2 drawer style so what's the best deal for the money in y'all's expierence? Matco, snapon, blue point??

Thanks ;)

hf single drawer is $60 or so..4 drawer $100 and the 5 drawer is $170 now iirc. (coupon prices)

I had a single and it was solid...have the 5 now and it's pretty awesome for the $$

Is it flimsy?? I have a craftsman ball bearing 26" bottom and top I'm working out if right now and it's really flimsy. Luckily it was a gift from my dad so I didn't buy it but I don't want to be in the same boat again with my new cart.

the 5 drawer red HF cart is as good or better than most of the roll carts the trucks sell...and is a hell of a lot cheaper

Go to the store and give them a test drive.

The no-drawer/1-drawer is the flimsiest, the black 4-drawer is the next one up, and the red 5-drawer is the stoutist of the bunch. No matter which one you go with, you'd be hard pressed to find a better built cart in that price range without getting really lucky on a used cart.

If you like a flip top, the HF red cart is hard to go wrong with.

I don't like that on the HF 4 drawer the screwdriver holders on each side are too shallow.
My screwdrivers are a bit too long and the top lid wont shut all the way.
It bugs me.

I would say the HF 5 drawer is a better choice.

The HF 5 drawer has been a great investment for me. added the sunex prybar holder for my long prybars , screwdrivers and extensions.

I bought a craftsman professional cart several years ago and it has been a good cart.

The harbor freight cart is a tippy pos. I can't wait to get rid of it
which one?

do not buy the one drawer cart. its flimsy! 4 or 5 drawer you are in good shape. they are roller bearing and pretty heavy duty for the price tag. just decide if you want red or black and if you want to spend 109 or 169

I've got the 5 drawer red one. Even without the low price, it's my favorite cart. I had a Matco when I was a tech, never really got attached to it, then I bought a Matco FRP one that had no drawers just a big open tub about 5" deep. I liked it when I was R&R'ing transmissions all day, 5 days a week.

Now with me working in a machine shop, I push my HF red cart to each machine I set-up or run. I will wear the wheels out!! I've had no issues with it being tippy, or top-heavy. Keith

5 drawer red one. I didn't say flimsy. I said tippy lol. It doesn't have a wide enough base

I should add I'm a professional mechanic and work out of it. I keep all my common tools in it. My stuff is probably heavier than a machinists

With a tool cart you will be storing your most used (most valuable to your job) tools. Security is an important factor, and a one drawer cart will not provide it..there is not enough room to keep everything locked up. What would happen if just your 3/8" drive 8 through 19mm sockets came up missing? I don't own the 5 drawer HF cart..yet.. but I wish I did to back up my Blue-point four drawer. Some claim the BP is the same as the HF 4 drawer, but it is not true. The BP is larger, the top is deeper, and it has better casters. I got mine lightly used for a side job.

Security is a good point. My tools were liberated from my garage so the only reason I got the POS harbor freight black cart was it didnt matter if I drilled a bunch of holes in it to add locks. I was able to " upgrade " to the POS harbor freight 44" box and since I only have $35 out of pocket in the thing drilling holes doesnt matter.

i was referring to the single drawer being flimsy.

if the 4 or 5 drawer is tippy, then so will all the other 30" carts ,even the more expensive ones. the larger matco and snappy carts are super stable, but they arent in the hundred dollar range.

I was able to find a Matco 4 drawer cart in pretty much new condition for $300 so I went that route, but if I had to do it over again and couldn't find a high quality truck brand cart in good condition for cheap I would go with the HF 5 drawer in a heart beat.

I just picked up this blue point one. Its almost identical to the sunex cart and was a little cheaper with a bit of negotiations with the SO guy. It is very sturdy. I think it was well worth the money.

I had the slightly larger version of the Blue-Point cart above^, KRBC10T. It was way more expensive than the red HF 5 drawer. My co worker had the red one and I honestly believe the HF cart was better quality than my Chinese Blue-Point..
