Probably no one in history has ever paid that. I paid $400.

In all the time I've worked in cabinetry, commercial moving, building maintenance, furniture take-down & rebuilding, selling hardware, etc., I've run into just about every kind of box ever made, and what you said is true: I know of only a small handful of situations where anything even close to full retail price/MSRP was paid. If that kind of price was paid, the toolbox and/or tools were usually a gift.

I've got a Kennedy 520 that I paid $20. for, a Craftsman top box form the 1980's that I paid $20. for, and just got a Matco cart (mentioned earlier in this thread) for $80. - which is probably too much, but it's what I wanted/needed. It was still $20.-$30. less that something comparable from HF. With patience & diligence, the deals are out there. One just has to look. (And not be impatient like me.)

I love the Assistent - "...it makes my OCD twitch..." as we say here at my house, but $1,600. for that?! No way.

Where? Because Amazon and eBay have it for $1600.

As I said earlier, I looked until I found one at a good price. It was used and I bought it from a guy who later joined GJ.

Another GJ member who sells on eBay, jensputzier, will sell one for much less than $1600. He doesn't appear to have any listed on eBay right now, but PM or email him if you are serious about looking for one. He is located in Germany, but shipping is not as difficult or expensive as you would think.

The two 166Ns listed on eBay right now are $800 & $900.

I find mine sturdy enough. It's the larger 166C so that may help as it's wider and maybe a little heavier. I would love to find a decent priced N some day though, even if just for the cool factor :D ...QUOTE]

The N like mine is all metal, where you have some plastic ;) The C is bigger and will hold more.

You are correct. My trays are plastic so it may be in fact lighter. For the small amount of strain it's under it holds up ok.

I got mine from jens. The freight costs were pretty good especially since I had enough tools included to fill the trays. Can't remember the exact cost but all in it was still well under the $1600 Amazon is charging for just an assistent.

I know exactly what you were responding to. I called you out and you have yet to respond to the question. You are too concerned with attacking my posts to take the focus off of yourself.

Do I need to repeat the question?

You called me out?! Really? Do you understand English? Obviously not.

And yet you still cannot answer a simple question. You are one of those people who judge quality based on price aren't you? Truck-brand carts cost so much more so they must be so much better! :headscrat

It was nice talking to you. Goodbye.

Thanks for the heads up. Now I know to disregard your opinion when I see it. :bounce:

And btw, I was at HF this evening, and, thinking about the post I commented on, took another look at the HF cart. Judgment? To think one of those is built as good as or better than a truck cart simply means you're fooling yourself.

I have the Matco msc4 cart and love it. I added the side shelf and a locking air tool holder and it is my daily box, my krl1033 just sits against the wall

What about the split top carts? Seems to me it would be nice to have a place to lay the socket extension and ratchet you are working with. Most carts I've seen are chocked full, so there's no work surface. If you are doing a brake job in your driveway you sit or kneel and put your tools on the ground. If you are doing the same job on a lift, where do you put the tool you just used and will need again?

I just picked up this blue point one. Its almost identical to the sunex cart and was a little cheaper with a bit of negotiations with the SO guy. It is very sturdy. I think it was well worth the money.

Your's must be the KRBC7TDPC, I've got the older version KRBC7TBPC.
Image0226.rotated.jpg Pic from where it were at my old house. I found it on Ebay & won the bid for £180.00 sterling in almost new condition, 4 years ago, a bargain compared to what Snap-On sell them for now.

Snap-On single drawer are better but for a cheaper option I'd suggest on Blue-Point or Matco. I've seen the HF ones before, they look flimsy I don't know how they feel.

So I've been searching around for a tool cart, but I'm not really sure which one to get... I like the 1-2 drawer style so what's the best deal for the money in y'all's expierence? Matco, snapon, blue point??

Thanks ;)

Search Ebay, you will come across a snappy or blue point cart at a reasonable price & you will find them in almost new condition.

If your wanting heavy duty go with snap on, otherwise the blue point 1's are fairly sturdy, I've had my cart for 4 years now & so far haven't had any problems with it & it's the 4 drawer version, but they do tend to get crammed with tools.

They've been in Costco in the past, there seems to be a different one each year, and Arcan and Sunex seem one and the same.

I have both a Blue Point cart and the Harbor freight cart with the adjustable bench top. Both are great, but I dont think the Blue Point is worth the price difference, I'd say HF for price and performance if all you need is a mobile cart. I bolted one of the HF side boxes onto the HF cart and it's pretty awesome.

I would think it's directed at the post directly above his about the side box on the mobile cart.

I dropped the "all duties paid" feature in my shop as no one seemed to really need it and adjusted shipping charges and the current exchange rate. Now the Hazet Assistent 166N is priced at US$752.65 shipped to the US as of today.

Say what? :p

I know what I want for Christmas now.

Ok, like the HF 5-drawer. BUT the sliding top carts look really nice and would considering going the extra bucks for the horizontal space if it is as practical as it seems. Has anyone tried the Sunex 8035R cart?? Can you put some weight on those sliding lids? Is the construction and gauge of steel as good as the HF 5-drawer? Considerably smaller than the HF box and more pricey at $360. And...I never see those CL deals on those other carts you guys get cheap, cheap.
