drawers are not bearing type, will work fine for a year or so and then they will start binding everytime you try to close them. Best for the money is the big stainless from Sams club that was mentioned here some time ago. Cannot beat the price on that one.

look like a kennedy know off. But as for call bearings, that doesnt matter. I have a kennedy that is arund 40 years old and a snap on from about the sam time, and all you need to do is put a pit of silicon lube on the slides and they work great. Ball bearings are a luxery, not a necessity (oh god I cant spell) Im limited in my budget, so I like to get the bare minimum for a tool box, so i can put that money into the tools. I have craftsman premiums as well, and they work very well for the price.

The only time ball bearings really benifit is when you have heavy loads which are usualy foudn in really deep draws. I like having shallow draws so that I can lay out all my tools and not have abig mess like in a box with less but deeper draws.

Save your money on that, buy a usa made one, but save money and just go craftsman premium. use the money for your tools, not the box.

I've had problems with non-ball bearing drawers without a lot of weight in the drawer. They just do not slide as nice as ball bearing drawers. You have to really open the slider drawers with your hand grabbing the center of the drawer, otherwise they bind. With my ball bearing drawers I can grab anywhere on the handle, open it and close it in no time. True, the less weight you have in a slider drawer, the better, but there still is no comparison, IMHO.

I like ball bearing, no question about it. Im just saying that its possible to get along without it. I dont own any ball bearing boxes, but I have worked out of them, and what pisses me off about them is how you need to lift the lever to pull it out. With my non ball bearing draws I just pull them out and sldie them in. I keep the slides lubed up and they work well enough for me. By not spending that extra hundred or more dollars on the upgrade, I have another 100 or more dollars for the actual tools. I cant really afford that fancy stuff, not to many jobs pay highschool students well enough for that.

Who was that directed to? me or Betterdays?

One of my boxes is a really old snap on box from the days before ball bearign draw slides. Still works great, and that thing is like 3 times as old As I am. My kennedy also works fairly well. Im not a professional opening my draws a million times a day, so it works for me
