Was over at Lowes tonight to pick up some pieces for gutters I'm putting up when I ran into a guy from my neighborhood. He told me how a buddy of his that works at Lowes called him up to tell him of a sale deal they were running.

Firestorm by Black & Decker, 24 volt 2 Tool cordless combo kit, Hammer Drill/Driver & Reciprocating Saw...regular price $118, on clearance for 75% off. Picked it up for under $30.

Didn't need it, but couldn't pass up that deal!

Is that ALL Lowes, or just the one by you?
Well, actually...where in Atlanta are you? I'm in Jefferson. For that price, I'd drive to the south side! Do they have any more?

Brad, I don't know if that was at other Lowes stores or not. They only had one left after I picked up mine. I was thinking about getting another one to get as a gift for someone but didn't.

They didn't have a big sign or anything around them, so I don't know how anyone was supposed to know they were on clearance. When the cashier scanned it, she had to have a manager come over and put the 75% discount in the system.

You can't really go wrong for $30 when it come to two powertools from a well-known decent-quality brand.

On one hand I agree, but on the other hand, even if its a good deal I would soon forget about that as it continually let me down and I had to put it out of its misery by throwing it out in the driveway or on the floor. Maybe I'm just a little stuck up when it comes to tools but being in construction for 16 years, I have a zero tolerance attitude when it comes to tools.
