Where to buy tool drawer liners, the good ones I have accounts with all 4 major trucks but thought maybe some of you might know of other "cheaper" options looking for a good color

I just started spraying the drawers of my box with Plasti dip. It worked on my truck wheels, so I thought, if it can survive road debris it should work in my box.

I used to have the kitchen drawer liners that are perforated and thought they were great. i just wish they weren't perforated. They're nice and sticky and hold everything in place. I'm currently using the SO liners that came with my KRA, these don't even deserve the snap on name.

In my big 1980 Proto top box i use cork gasket material. At work i use thin cardboard till it gets nasty, then replace it with same. My old tools In my old boxes rest on liners from Sears.

Menard's had yoga mats a while back for $4. Got a bunch. Works great.

note - I know nothing about yoga but these things are only about 1/8" thick. Doesn't seem like much padding. Any yoga-ers here?

I went looking at yoga mats @ Wal-Mart and Target. They can get pretty spendy for the thicker ones. Even the thin ones were kinda expensive.

That is because they are just cheap yoga mat's, the more expensive premium mat's are a lot thicker and provide more cushioning.
My g.f. has one that is 5/8" thick and slip resistant but I think she paid $40 for it

Just did my Grandfathers old box with the perforated kitchen drawer liners. 12" x 120" for 6$ (Canadian) is hard to beat. My next box will be with cork, it looks so good.

I got about 200 sq feet of rubberized mesh that looks just like typical liner at the Habitat ReStore. The tag said it was part of a curtain :shrug

It's tan colored and works great, but it is a little light weight for a pro that is constantly putting stuff in and out.

I only mention it because there is other (super cheap, like $4 for all of it) stuff out there. The yoga mats seem to be popular too. You see a lot of them at yard sales, in bright colors. You just have to keep your eyes open for the re-use possibility. (if you like cork, lots of stores sell it as DIY bulletin board kit in rolls, and Ikea sells thick cork placemats cheap.)

OK then.... stop for a second and look where you live. how is the humidty, if any where you live? your tools can & well sweat, as you put them back in your box they may sweat and even the best of tools well get a little (surface)rust from time to time. the oil from your work and every day use well keep them good but from time to time you well see or feel the finish showing it, if the tool is not used for awhile then it well show up more or sooner. use a draw liner that can breath (perforated) to lesson the effect of humidty and the salt thats in your skin. i lived in Midland,TX (desert) and now live in FLA. were the humidty well play hell on wiped down tools in my box, the perforated draw liners do help in keeping my tools dryer !

World Market has yoga mats that work great as well for 5 bux each...I was able to get some in Lime Green which makes it really easy to find my tools....wiping them down with a clorox wipe cleans them right off as well

Same here. The cheap drawer liners are too thin, the camping pads are too pricy and thick and most of the quality drawer liners are just really pricey. The $5 yoga mats are fantastic and come in lots of colors - cheap for the amount of material you get and wide enough for any drawer. They hold up well to grease also.

This is what I use and I love it. My tools dont move and the liner never slides at all. I really like how the tools leave an impression when you pick them up. Its almost like its slightly adhesive. You can tell exactly where the tool was for a little while then it goes back to normal. I picked up a T handle Allen wrench the other day and I could see craftsman in the liner.

They sell it on Amazon but I order from Rockler wood working they usually have free shipping over $50

Anybody using brush on truck bed liner?

Cork users, how do you get the cork to lay flat?

Do you glue the liner in to torment future refinishers?

Zrexxer, thanks. I always think, "Thats a good idea. You know, indexing my favorite sites and topics". Unfortunately, I have ADD and by the time I've thought it, I'm off to something else. So, thanks go to you and others that actually do index and searches (well, I do searches at least).

Dave.

bed liner would be too rough and take too much prep work. plastI dip is just spray and play and it is more rubbery.

Snap-on uses a PVC coated fabric as a drawer liner; they are the absolute best. Thin and VERY grippy.

I use hard foam and cut out shapes for all my tools.. They always stay in place and one quick go over my box and I can see what is missing.
