I assume you are working on a refrigerant line set?
Having the right tool helps but using a basic one with right techniques gets the job accomplished efficiently.
Watch the myriad of videos out there.
Use refrigerant oil when forming the flare.
Slowly form the flare as oppose to cranking it down.
Practice on the ARC rated tubing.
Don't forget to load the flare nut on to the tubing before flaring the end.
Inspect the flare.
Tighten the flare nut with some refrigerant oil to the correct torque.
Pressure check the connection using leak detect bubble solution.
