Yeah, so I'm a sucker for the odd or interesting tool. I picked up these oddball pliers at a fleamarket last weekend for cheap, along with a few other bits. I did not know what they were, but they just seemed to be odd and unusual enough to grab my attention.
I did a google search on the name + model number, but got nothing helpful about this particular model. FYI, these are Diamond brand pliers, model KC-18.
So, I searched for the patent number (2,677,982) and BINGO!

Interesting that the patent document shows that it was licensed to The American Hardware Corp of New Britain,CT but the tool was made by Diamond in Duluth, MN.
These pliers are in good shape, but have some owner's grind marks- 6 on one handle and 7 on the other. I don't know if I'll ever have a real need for them, but they are just really cool to me.
(sorry for the **** pic- it's a camera phone pic)
