Hello All,

I'm hoping someone can help me understand the use for the top two bits in picture 1, and also tell me who made the old screwdriver in the last 3 pics.

The bits in the first pic go with a Vaco screwdriver handle with interchangeable bits. It has a few flats and a few philips, and then these two odd tips. They are not spline, torx, allen. I've never seen this shape.

The other thing I can't figure out is the maker of the clear screwdriver with the red screw on top. It has 7 bits with it and no identifying markings left to read. If it looks familiar to anyone I would appreciate it if you would share.

Thanks and have a great one!

They look like bits for security screws. The head only lets you tighten the screw, removing it is intentionally a PITA.

In the first picture those two are Clutch Head drivers. Clutch head screws were used on Chevy's especially in the early 1950's. The truck in my avatar has a lot of them.

In the 1940's, too! The trucks that Chevy supplied to the US Army in WWII all had a set of three (3) BHM-made clutch head screwdrivers: 5/32", 1/4", and 5/16" tips. The originals are not easy to find. They had black wooden handles, pot steel ferrules, and carbon steel blades.

The OP's bits are much more recent, of course.

Grandfather's Tools,
In photo #4 there are four (4) offset screwdrivers. (Blades pointed in 90* orientation away from the shank.) Three of them look to be Phillips heads. I am interested in the other one with the flat tips. How long is it? And are there are any markings on it?
