I thought it would be good to have a tool ID thread for those of us that frequent auctions and sales. I always seem to end up buying a flat of tools just to get one thing I want, I now have quite a collection of tools I don't know what they are used for.

To start here are pics of 3 tools that I haven't been able to identify.

First tool: This pair of tools are just about identical but the one on the left is marked Craftsman, no other markings exist on either tool.

Second tool: This tool is marked Kennametal and Latrobe, PA. I am familiar with Kennametal and I own some of their insert tool holders for my lathe but I haven't been able to find any info on this tool. On the bottom are two short sections of a file, each with a different tooth pitch.

Third tool: This one I originally thought was some kind of banding tool but I have never used seen one like this.

Any ideas on what these are for? I have more if you guys are interested and if anybody has a tool they can't identify please post a pic!

The third one is for making permanent band clamps on industrial hoses. We use ones similar to it at work. The clamps are just multiple wraps of stainless steel bands. The tool pulls on the free running end of the clamp drawing it tight around the hose. When it's tight enough that part with the point on it is smacked with a hammer denting an overwrap and locking the bands together. I'm not at work till tomorrow but if you want brands and types of clamps it uses I can check then.
