Tool Identification and worth keeping?

Hello all. I just signed up for this forum to ask a question or two. I got this belt sander, do you think it's work keeping? I don't have a motor for it. I got this drill press and the owner threw this into the deal. Let me know your thoughts.

Looks like that sander may go with the drill press. Bolt it to the table, rotate the motor horizontal and move the belt from the drill to the sander.

If you don't a belt/disc sander, by all means keep it. They are really handy. You need a 3/4 hp motor to drive it.

Thanks man! How does the sanding disk attach to the orbital. It's not Velcro like I'm used to

Im pretty sure there the sticky back pads, peel off the thin layer of plastic and
stick it on.

They're called PSA discs (pressure sensitive adhesive).

Ummm......yep definitely worth keeping if you'd use a belt / disc sander! I've been watching for a vintage Craftsman sander like that for awhile now to go with my Craftsman drill press and block grinders.

Thanks for the response everyone. Looks like I'll be welding up a table for this over the weekend and getting some PSA disks from harbor freight to start. Very happy I asked here, thanks again!
