Does anyone know what this might be? It was in some tools I got from my father

You can buy in today for $5 at Home Depot. Most useful tool to replace lawn sprinkler risers when you are changing the sprinkler head. They all seem to brake inside the fitting. This will take it our in seconds without damaging the fitting threads..
