Tool info needed????

Looking for some info on the following tools.

This is an old tap and die set.

This weird screwdriver looks more like an aggravation than useful to me.

...and these sheers work pretty darn good. It say made in France on the back. Don;t know if that's a good or bad thing.

I'll have a few others later today. Just trying to find out anything on them. Probabll gonna sell them since I'm looking to purchase a nice drill press within the next few weeks.

Take the handle off and put the right angle drive into a drill when you need to get into a tight spot, you won't ever make that statement again! I have two and they have come in very very handy when needed. I have never used it as a hand screwdriver though.

haha I believe it has a purpose, but that doesn't look like it is fitting in any tight spots.

It has a purpose and is very good at it. Take the red handle off, take the metal finger handle off the head and you are left with a right angle head that is roughly an inch deep, the bit sticks out another quarter inch or so, so you have a 1 1/4" scredriver that lets you use your cordless drill in places it normally couldn't. We used them with 1/2" pan heads for steel framing all the time. I've also bought a set of hex drive drill bits and cut them down and sharpened them so they are only about 1 1/2" long and use them with this to drill straight holes in tight places. I've used a couple different right angle drivers but this one is the best I have used so far. It's one of those tools that you won't realise it's potential until you have it and need it.

In a strange way you helped me solve my mystery!!! I picked up about 20 small lucky
dies about 6 weeks ago and after seeing your label now I know that they were made by the Vermont Tap & Die Co.

Yeah, the head is real handy thing to have around. I use it with the dewalt cordless drill all the time for drilling, driving screws, whatever. I do like the handle even using it like I do. I got the head-only from Milwaukee, bought it at HD hanging on a hook near the drill bits. Or amazon:

Very handy to get inside a small box, or some dashboards have screws next to the windshield, or screws inside the dashboard.... I used to install car stereos, and that thing is a MUST have.

Of course I have used it just as much on the end of my cordless Dewalt for some oddball jobs.

You're telling me that the Japanese tend to copy other countries products???? You learn something new everyday.

Thanks. They do look alot like SK. Seem to be pretty well built. I may hold on to them. I'll leave them in my Tacoma.
