China plans for the long term,
70 years ago their "100 years of humiliation" came to an end,
the table is set for them to return the favor.

Maybe it will happen and maybe it won't,
but they sure appear to be trying.

I don't think the US have done anything to humiliate the Chinese 70 years ago or 100 years ago, that was the Brits... with their East India Company ... other than snub the communist at the UN and world summits then and of cause harboring the Japanese War Criminals that have torture millions and millions of Chinese / Russian/ Asians for Human experiments.. ( you can google U731 , this is an interesting story for good or for bad... the fact is still the US took liberty to grant immunity to these Criminals, same thing to the nazi scientists... )

This things are probably pure business and trade and struggle for world power house... but not as what you are stating their 70 year old plan to end humiliations...

I didn't grow up in China,
so I can only have a westerner's idea of what China and Xi are doing and planning for the short and long term.

I do know pride and "face" are fundementals of the Chinese culture,
I believe the Chinese named the Century of Humiliation themselves as it reflects a dark cloud that hangs over their history (to themselves, not to me certainly).

I do believe there are Chinese who feel the only balance that could erase the shame of 100 years of Westerner influence over their great and storied history would be *** for tat and have China's influence surpass that of the Western world.

Is that what China is trying to do now?
I have no idea, but I would treat that as a possible end game if I had to negotiate with China.

IMO China wants to be just like America - when it was young and ambitious.

That could be true,
I believe Chinese culture looks at its great history and sees itself as superior to "The West" already.

and I know that
the Chinese People
and the Chinese Government are two completely different things,
and in some respects their goals are worlds apart from each other.

One guess is as good as the next how this all effects Chinese policy and plans.

Probably.... who knows... I see this as a country struggle for power house just what Zendriver mentioned. If I am still alive in the futures where people can do a proper study about this, I will probably watch it in National Geographic or history channel some where. How ever, the history might be influenced by the winner... lol like it was mentioned
Conquered people rarely get a say in how things are run or how history is written, for right or wrong
. One thing is for sure, pattern doesn't change no matter what country.

Now back to this countriy's economic pot... do we blame the Chinese now because they didn't obey? :lol_hitti

I don't know what they're not obeying,
but China should do what's in China's best interest.

If there's some third party treaty they're not obeying then they should take it up with whatever governing body they agreed to,
or remove themselves from the treaty.

If you mean obey the USA at some demand,
again China should do what helps China.

Sometimes two countries will have overlapping goals, and sometimes they wont.

I think the USA should do whats good for the USA both short term and long term as well.

What is, or isn't best for either country probably creeps over to the political so I'll steer clear of that here

The crazy irony in all of this, is that to a large extent the Chinese believe more in American Business than Many Americans do.

They buy trillions of dollars of our debt - all unsecured, paying almost zero interest.

They're investing in or opening factories, steel mills and so forth all over the country.

There buying up our overpriced real estate as fast as they can get their hands on it.

They do without batting an eye.

Thet are creating jobs and Wealth here, to compete with that in their own Country

IMO They don't want to conquer uss, they just want to piece of the action.

Who wouldn't? :)
