Tool Recommendations: Tap Set and Right Angle Drill Adapter

My existing Imperial/Metric tap and die set is a real POS and I would like some input on an somewhat affordable replacement set, ~$100 or so. I'd like a combo set as they typically come with a holder compatible with all and cheaper than buying separate unless I am mistaken.

Also I have seen various right angle adapters for standard drill chucks on Amazon but most have horrible reviews. Does anyone make a quality unit or should I just purchase a bare tool right angle drill to go with all of my other Makita LXT goodies?

Any feedback on the GearWrench Tap/Die sets? The ratcheting bits can be purchased separately so I am mainly curious as to the metal cutting quality.

Years ago I used the HF right angle adapter to drill a bunch of rivets between a frame and rocker panel. I'd only do about one per day as it was a crappy job, but it worked ok as I recall. Later I got a right angle air drill and never used the adapter again.

A dedicated tool such as Makita will likely allow more clearance, so I'd do that.

Thanks for the input, good point on the clearance. I was surprised to see the LXT Makita Right Angle drill bare tool was $125 though. Most of their bare tool items are $100 or less.

Anyone have suggestions for a tap and die set?

See if you can find a vintage USA made Craftsman set on eBay.

Craftsman started outsourcing their tap and die sets to China in 2009. The newer Chinese sets are junk.

Last year I got this 76 piece Craftsman Tap and Die Set (metric and standard) on eBay for $140. It's very nice and I don't think it was ever used.

I have a set made by Irwin that I purchased recently on Amazon, they are made in the USA although I believe the handle in the set I bought may not be.
It was over $100 but it looks like you can purchase the metric/imperial separately which would bring the price closer to $100.
For the money I am very happy with the set, search Irwin tap and die set on Amazon, there are a couple sets to choose from, one of which looks very similar to the craftsman set posted above.
