Tool restoration. Replacement stickers.

Has anyone ever came across a place that makes sticker/decals to match what is on old tools that needs replaced.

What kinds of tools / what size labels?

I have seen a lot of restorations where people took pictures of their labels, cleaned them up in photoshop and then had them printed on to vinyl. I have some experience with this, but generally only use it as a last resort in tool restoration.

The majority of my nameplates I hand paint to restore. Its a time consuming process, but definitely worth every second I put into it in the end, as it looks factory in the end.

There are also water-transfer substrates that one can put through an ink jet printer to make facsimiles of that style -- if one has the artwork needed.

Here it is . Open it in your favorite graphics program and then add your numbers in the blank spot. Save. Print.

Use a waterproof printable vinyl sheet and then add a clear over-laminate sheet to protect the ink, then cut to fit and your good to go. You can also take it into many print shops and get it printed professionally, in which they would print with a water stable ink that would not bleed.
