This one is for the Canadians on the board, I bought a Mastercraft 6 piece set of pliers a few weeks ago and just got went to use the cutters and noticed that they were not machined properly and there is a ridge on the one handle that sort of locks them shut once you close them enough, and makes it quite hard to pull the handles apart again, now if I just bring this pair back out of the set will they just replace them or would they try to get me to bring them all back? I have checked the rest and they are all machined squarely and don't want to end up with a different issue on a different tool in the set, so since these are supposed to have a life time warranty how much of a hassle will they give me over this?

take them back and leave them there. they don't cut worth a squirt of piss anyways. Of all the tools Canadian Tire sells the pliers are by far the worst.

you should be able to return an individual item. Ive had the clerks try to make me return a set of stuff before but i refused as i didnt have all the items still. I just asked to speak to a manager. It doesnt say anywhere that a set has to be returned for one item to be replaced. Ive always gotten them to open up a set for the one piece i needed warrantied.

When did Canadian Tire sell anything worth anything to start with?

You also have to be really careful since not all there hand tools have a lifetime warranty anymore. Which is an even better reason to not buy it.
