Hey all

I like watching tool reviews especially German tool reviews (that’s an actual channel) but tool reviews in general I enjoy watching. That is until today when I found some dude named bill who has to be the worst review of tools in the world! Here’s one of his stupid videos youtu.be/u6cLMkYe7q8

Anyway I was wondering which go to you tubers u all watch for tool reviews and why.

Let me know. Thanks

AvE: good teardowns and fairly knowledgeable about plastics.

Project Farm: some tools, lots of fuel and lubricant tests. He makes some pretty good test rigs.

For electronics gear there's EEVBlog.

South Main Auto. Not a tool review channel, but he does mention his new tools and how they're holding up. He uses them daily in a busy repair shop, and he's known for using tools hard. Some Mfr's send him prototype stuff to see how it holds up in the real world. He's not a tool snob nor allegiant to any one brand. If Eric says its good, it is. And he's not a shill, like so many are.

Mark Fox doesn't put up a lot but he and I are on the same page. He's a Jap bike guy and tool addict. He's a member here but not seen too often
Another dude is a small engine guy named.....https://www.youtube.com/user/donyboy73/videos
He's straight up. Not so many tool reviews, quite a few, but he's a smart dude on fixing lawn **** and snowblowers and stuff. Real good......monotone....but smart

There's a lot of good tool information on you tube but, you have to be able to separate the infomercials and the people who only buy a tool just to make a film and never really use it. As others have mentioned, there are some excellent auto repair channels that actually use tools in a professional setting. I'm not a fan of the tool unboxing films or the similar versions of I just got this but, haven't used it yet.

Unboxing films in general I'm just WTF? why is this even a thing? 15 minutes spent with the box and packaging, reading everything on it, maybe 5 minutes with the product regurgitating the printed material.

JUSTIN STURGILL TRUCKING is pretty funny, owns a dump truck business? Literally owns every Snap-On tool... insane. Bunch of haters

Bruce Allen, funny auto mech

Koon Trucking, trucking company owner seems like genuinely a good guy, and his employees are pretty entertaining.

JRC54, auto mech business owner

I don't care for most of the youtube reviews but this guy has them beat by miles in my book; only problem is that he does not do many tool reviews...

I found one of his tool reviews and he does a very good job at it I might add.

I enjoy Zipties and Bias play's tool reviews the few he has done. Ave's are good, but can get long winded when he is being serious and not funny.

Never been more true.

But I should also point out that it is incredibly time consuming to stop work to get "action" video. The ones that make it look easy are incredibly talented and/or hard-working.

As far as good YouTubers go, I think Doresoom deserves some attention - https://www.youtube.com/user/doresoom1

I don't know who has time to watch someone ramble on for 20 minutes. Many of the Youtubers are intentionally wasting as much of your time as possible--they want you watching as long as possible. If you condensed the USEFUL information from some of these videos into a well organized written review, most would be less than 500 words... some maybe less than 100 words --and it would only take a few seconds to read it.

Usually, I'm only looking at Youtube reviews because I want a better look at the tool in use and I don't care what is being said about it.

But there are some videos that I highly recommend. This video is one of the most comprehensive and indepth videos that I've seen.
