I have been looking for a tool roll for a vehicle based tool kit;it will hold my combination wrenches, 2 ratchets, pliers, screwdrivers, things like that. I am sure I will need more than one, and I'm fine with that. The problem I am having is that there are a bunch of options out there and I can't seem to find a reliable review on any of them.

I thought the one from Duluth Trading Co looked nice, plus there were about a dozen others I was looking at, but I don't want to spend $30 to $50 (or 10 cents) on something that isn't worth owning...

Has anyone here used something like this and if so, your thoughts on it? The ultimate purpose will be to keep subsets of tools organized in a larger container in the truck.

Thanks

I have this tool roll from Harry Epstein. It's for wrenches and I've been happy with it.

Bucket Boss one is pretty decent.

There are a bunch of brands' rolls in the $12-20 price range, with slightly different pocket configurations.

I was just in sears 20 minutes ago and saw they had craftsman rolls empty. I thought it was a good idea to sell them that way. Can't for the life of me remember the price. Maybe $17-$19

I like the look of the dirt bagz tool rolls - does the medium fit in the large roll? I had checked out bucket boss too, just wasn't ready to pull the trigger on it yet.

The craftsman is cool but I want a flap to keep stuff from falling out - I know I will lose things otherwise, I'm pretty good at that it seems...

How are you guys useing your tool rolls? Are they every day use or for break downs on the road? I have one that was for a set of wright wrenches that i use from time to time when i am away from the shop. I have some canvas left over from makeing a jeep top and thought about makeing one to carry in my jeep to hold whater i would need to fix my jeep.

Using mine when I travel to help others work on their projects. Or, they are used as an emergency set while traveling. Junkyard trips too.

The Adventure Tool Co is my favorite but holy s%!tsnacks, the price... That's what prompted me into looking for a suitable replacement. I think I will give the bucket boss and a Dirt Bags Large, maybe a medium as well. I want the rolls themselves to be easily identifiable by look as well as feel. Thanks for the leads!

I found upholstery fabric samples and asked someone with a sewing machine to sew them. I use tool rolls only to keep tools that are in the car from rattling around.
