I have a pretty decent shop in my suburban house two car garage however there is no heat or air. The main door is open when I'm working on stuff. I set this shop up maybe two years ago.

The problem I'm have is I have noticed lately that some of my tools are starting to show patches of surface rust. This does not make me very happy.

My reseidence is in Geogria. Other then full sealing and HVAC can anything be done to slow or stop the rust?

....running a large fan continuously?

My detached garage tends to have condensation issues and tool rusting, too. I've been running a floor blower this winter mainly to keep **** from coming under the door, and we'll see if it changes the condensation situation.

My main solution is one I was taught as a kid many, many years ago -- to periodically wipe infrequently used tools with an oil-soaked rag.

Probably from the salt/sweat from your hands. Wipe them off when you get done with them. Or maybe wipe them down with an oily rag.
