I posted a couple of pics in the vise thread and thought I would post the pics here also. I went a auction in Ohio over the weekend and scored a few deals.

OP . . . . . we don't know if you scored if GJer's aren't told the prices !! ;)

What did you have to give for each ??

Coincidentally a CL ad I was looking at had whole slew of 12" C clamps and he was "ABSOLUTELY FIRM" on price that he wanted $40 EACH for the clamps and he would only sell 2 at a time. He had 42 of those 12" C clamps !! :eyecrazy:

What a nitwit, if he did find someone willing to pay $40. a clamp, let them have as many as they want, hopefully all 42. Ad in the local paper over the weekend "Wooden step ladders, have 6, $5. ea, or take all 6 for $50." Huh? LOL

Evil, looks like a great haul.

^ ^ ^ What I should have said, is CL nitwit had MINIMUM of two 12" C clamps at $40 . . . . as he just didn't want to mess with selling one at a time.

If a guy had $1,680 in his pocket for bucket full of rusty C clamps, I'm sure he would have taken ALL your money !! :eyecrazy:

So I have been told:lol: I passed up a lot of good deals just so the folks at the auction would not think that I was a ****. A bench grinder went for $35.00, A medium floor standing Parts washer went for $40.00. There was a lot of 7 rigid pipe wrenches that were all 18" or longer that went for $35.00. Lots of other stuff ,drill press, rigid vise w/ 4' jaws.3x4 welding table $8.00, Parts bins out the wazoo and lots of other cool garage related stuff. The next time I see a sale like this I will just wear my " yes I am a ****" shirt.

You did very nice..

I got over the auction being a **** thing a long time ago. Now I go in, find what I want, set a price in my head, and go for it. Most people pick up on that determination and typically back off and respect you for being determined. Others don't and get mad because "you ran it up too high".. Well DUH, this is an auction where the item goes to the highest bidder....

I will do that if it is some thing that I really want but the stuff that I let go would have buying just to buy.

Heck of a haul. Nice scores. A little tip at the auctions I've found useful; if I have identified things I want, when the item comes up I simple hold up my number, and keep it up! Works every time. Other bidders realize you want it and guess you are willing to pay whatever it takes and they just walk away. Got a full set of Plomb Pebble DOE up to 1 5/8" the other day for $40 with my number raised from the get go.
