I know that many of you know of this craigslist search site http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/sd.cgi?cat=tls&fil=air+compr&state=&submit=go, but unless you have used it recently, you may have not known the changes that were made. One of the best changes in a long time is the addition of a tool search link. You can even limit it to your state and not have to drool over items that are too far away to buy.

Eric has always been very responsive to new ideas for searches and he has incorporated a few of mine in the past. so if you have some ideas for him, make sure you ask.

The search that I included is for air compressors, but you can modify the keyword to anything you want. You do not need to include the entire word and in fact, if you use the entire word the search will limit you to only that spelling. If you are searching one state, try just compr (compressor) if you try comp, you will get searches that include complete etc.

I can find just about everything I am looking for on craigslist and I use ebay less and less.

Because I live in the middle of five urban areas, http://crazedlist.org/ is my favorite way to search multiple craigslist locations.

One pain is you have to disable referrers in your browser. That's because the craigslist folks don't like crazedlist making CL useful and they will block the site if they catch it. Disabling referrers ***** on Firefox because it disables it for every site, which can cause some sites not to work.

My solution was to download the Opera browser which will allow you to disable referrers per URL. I save my favorite crazedlist searches as bookmarks in a folder. Opera allows you to open all your bookmarks in a folder at once with a single click. I have about 15 searches saved that way. It's great.

Get the firefox add-on called redirect remover and you can do the same thing.

and the multi-link open at once in tab things can be done on the fox as well. i've been ale to do that for so long I can't remember if it's built-in or an add-on. also, the snap links add-on lets you do the same thing by drawing a box aorund the links but i haven't used that one.

Maybe I am missing something here. Why would you use the other searches when this one will do it all with little to no trouble? I tried those other searches years ago and it was a lot of trouble and when I switched to a MAC and Safari, I decided not to use them again.

I am a searchaholic, I do this for fun. About five years ago, I started using craigslist.org behind every search I did on google. That worked, but it was a lot of work and no way to save the searches. I passed this method on to others and many still use this method today. Once I found this I no longer had to work at searching, it's easy!

You can search for many things including tools and cars/trucks. With a little tweaking, you can find most anything. As I stated earlier, KEYWORDS are a must for a thorough search. You can search for parts the same way, I post on another forum and right now I have probably three hundred individual ads for those who are a little less interested in searching, but when it is convenient, they will.

I have already contacted Eric with a few more questions that I have and some that were raised on here. I will work to get the Canadians more help! For those who have used it, enjoy! For those who would prefer to use the old ways, give this one another try!

Things that you can find easy!

And I found this one, anybody live close to toledo? http://detroit.craigslist.org/tls/1034731313.html Nice benches and a large anvil!

Because I can't figure out how to narrow my search down to a reasonable driving distance. Any hints?

There was a glitch in the system and I alerted Eric and he fixed it. It would not let you continue with the second page of a selected state. It is now letting you select any state that you want, I wish it was by mileage, but this is the best I could do for now.

I did a simple search in Arkansas and this is the result. http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/sd.cgi?cat=tls&fil=air+compr&state=AR&submit=go Now if you were in a big state like Texas or California, the search compiles the entire states ads and that's a lot of area to cover.

I hope this helps! Try the vehicle search and don't forget about the GOE http://goe.scrimper.net/cgi-bin/home.cgi
