tool storage location

in my i have a 20x20 section thats insulated and constantly heated, right now its an exercise room. i do like it that way, however i am wondering if i should move my tools and boxes in there so that they are constantly heated. do you think this would be better than leaving them in the unheated section, its unheated unless i am working out there then i turn on the heat.

Are you having issues with things freezing? Otherwise, I wouldn't think it would make a massive difference. Then again, I could be wrong. I live in sunny AZ, so heating is kind of a non-issue, so I'm not terribly sure what sort of issues cold creates for tools lol

I would say it depends on how you heat your shop. If your tools are constantly "sweating" then yes move them in but if you haven't noticed any rusting issue I would leave them be

of course nothing is differnt like when you pull ice cold beer from the fridge it does not collect water on the outside of the can right?





Same goes for tools when the temp/humidity changes

thats what i am afraid of, i have noticed during the season changes and those real rainy days the tools get sweaty and i really dont want everything to get rusty

In that case, I would move them as soon as I could. nothing is worse than rusted tools
