Howdy folks I am looking for a mobil tool box to house a Cman 132 piece set that is backseat friendly. The hinge on the blow molded case gave up the ghost. I can't really complain the set has seen daily use since 09'. Just looking for something small or the same size with rounded edges. I'd also like to steer clear of bags. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

Any chance of screwing hinges into the blow molded case?

Look on eBay. You’ll often see empty cases for sale. As many sets as they’ve offered over the years, it might be difficult to find an exact match, but maybe close enough.

IF not screwing hinges, can you get plastic hinges and glue them on? Or use a piece of heavy fabric (canvas) and fiberglass it on, or other similar bonding?

Have you considered a tool roll? I can't think of any real easy way to store sockets in an organized fashion in a moving vehicle unless they are on rails or in a tightly fitted case. Even still, the blow moulded plastic cases are only so durable, and one fall is usually enough to put you back in the same position you're in now.

While not rounded unfortunately, as far as durability goes, I'd suggest one or two of the low profile metal toolboxes that fit beneath the seat. You can split up the sockets by drive size between the two, if they don't all fit in one. If they do fit in one or come close, you can put the small sockets on rails, and leave the larger sizes loose. 87cf5e5fd03276d32c65180154fd682f.jpg

Provided you don't have anything too long...
I've got the perfect box for your situation
You can get them at any decent sized gun store.

And my preference would be...

Harbor Freight has the .30 cal size on sale often for $4.99. They work well to make first aid kits too.

Thank you gents! I am going to try ebay first then I think about salvaging the old case. Plus if I were to go the ammo can route it's gotta be the real deal otherwise it feels like cheating.
