Heading to Paris for the Retromobile show next week. Does anyone have a recommendation for a great store to shop for European hand tools?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunatetly I haven't visited any in Paris or France for that matter. Search Outillage and use google and google maps. It shows quite a few mom and pop stores. I can't vouch for what they have but you may be able to find a website or photos.

I also found this list of tool stores
https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=tool+shop&find_loc=Paris

Gaignard Million looks interesting but seems to be focused on woodworking. Leroy Merlin is a hardware chain. There was one in my town when I lived in Italy. They had a smaller tool section than Home Depot and not much in the way of high end European brands. Au Forum du Batiment looks like a small chain with some good power tools.

Sorry, I don't have any first hand experience and can't speak French well to do a better google search.

Thanks, sometimes just the right search term makes all the difference!

I would think Retromobile would have booths of tools both old and new :dunno:

Please share show pictures when you return,

Thanks, I will be sure to post pics when i get back. The last time I was at the show was 2005, curios to see how things have changed!

Visit the Paris flea market.
Very cool place with an assortment of stuff including old/used tools.

Also you may want to visit the science/technology museaum there. They have some very old tools on display including one of the earliest knows lathes
