Looks like the Tool Talk forum over at papawswrench is gone. Has anybody heard something about this?

Just a guess but with the death of the web-site owner this year might spell the end of that site, unless someone steps in to take his place.

Ryan what happens to the GJ when you depart?

His son took over. As far as I know it’s still up or at least it was last time I was on a week or so ago I believe. His son promised to keep it going.

Strange timing. Yesterday evening I followed a link there while researching something and it didn’t work. The site comes up, but the forum does not. I was wondering what would happen down the line.

I noticed back in June (IIRC) that many of the photos in the forum were no longer displaying. You would see only a file name link, and when you clicked on the link it reported that the file could not be found. This was for most of the forum photos. I suspected there was trouble brewing then.

Although the website itself is still up, it only contains the older, static content. There appears to be no Tool Talk forum content, only a blank page for me.

I contacted Noel’s son about the photo issue and he took care of it right away. Maybe he just isn’t aware of the current problem. I know that his intent is to keep the site going.

Good News! Via lptools, I have received this message from Patrick - Noel Hankamer's son:
"Hey folks, I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the Tool Talk forum, but the web host (Godaddy) is being a pain. If there are other members on the forum that you're in contact with, please let them know that I'm trying to resolve the immediate issue to get the forum back up and running. After that I will be transferring the site and forum to another hosting service (Dreamhost) that I use for my own personal websites. "

Cheers,
Patrick

Can't get on.
Site says I am not registered, but when I register, "user name already in use".
Stuck in a loop.
