Some neat stuff you found. Some of the less practical stuff you can clean up and save as conversation pieces, the stuff that is more usuable (pliers, wrenches etc) I would definetly put to use, even if it's on a limited basis.

Btw, i never got the opportunity to get many of my Grandpa's tools. Their farm sold on short notice and I never got to make a final trip there. However a year or 2 prior I did get some of his possesions. I am fortunate enough to have some farm equipment from him, incl. a 1966 David Brown 990 tractor, that although extremely tired, still works well enough to perform tasks such as bush hogging. I also got a few small items, like an Estwing axe, a large adjustable wrench and a shovel. But, I wish I could have got more of his tools. Not so much that I really need them (my tool collection is many times what he had) but just for sentimental value. Occasionally I have dreams where I go back to the farm to retrieve his tools. I guess I must really like tools! ;)

I have some of the same old tools and still use them. If yours are rusty just take them to the wire wheel and clean them up then rub them with oil until they work freely again. Some of those old ones are way better than what you can get new.

Thanks for the notes all!

My electrolysis tank is bubbling away as we speak with a pipe wrench and file inside. I absolutely plan on cleaning up most of these pieces and using them or at least displaying them on the pegboard.

Can't wait to bring a few back to my grandpa to show them how well they cleaned up. He gave me the oddest look when I showed him the bucket full of rusted tools that I pulled out of his barn.

He'll get a kick out of seeing some of these cleaned up, particularly the Indestro wrenches which I've since learned belonged to his dad.
