I'm interested to see what other dealers are like. My old snap on guy would often give out shirts, hats and what not just because you pay your bill more or less. It was nice. You pay so much for its good to get something extra. My new snap on guy makes you pay for every little thing. I feel as if I don't buy as much from him that way.

One of the guys in my shop buys a ton of SO from the rep that comes to our shop. He inquired about a Snap On Anniversary back pack and was told it was only part of a drill set, blah, blah. He pressed on and wound up with it. I'm not sure what he paid for it, but for as much as he buys, it should have been a freebie.

Got this x 2 and my buddy got one. We didn't even buy anything that day, just warranted a screwdriver and triple square bit. I don't carry a balance either. I'm a "cash sale" walk on and I just pay for what I want or need. I don't have a shop, I just call him and he meets me somewhere when he is in my area. He didn't have to bother with me as I'm not a huge spender but he's always been good to me.

My guy would give me free items I wanted, at times, or aske if I wanted something. Sometimes a little screwdriver or something small. If it was a special for the month, I could often get free stuff by buying something else of similar value, and he would usually let me do all kinds of trades. He made it easy to buy more tools. He kept giving me deals, I would buy more tools. He knew I was always looking for a deal too. I paid full price 2-3 in the past 2-3 years since I had switched to him. I have moved since, so I do not have regular by now, but I have contact info on 3 in the area, and a Cornwall guy too.

I agree the deals make me want to buy more tools, the gadgets that I do not have a use for not so much, I would trade it for something else, add cash and get something else I wanted. We were always making deals.

So far for free I've got a blue-point cart loaded with blue-point tools, and a 3 or 4 foot snap-on gas pump display cabinet, hats, jackets, clothes, cups, NHRA tickets and Cruz Pedregon/Snap-on pit passes, truck credit, lots of other stuff. My dad's got countless stuff over the years too. A lot of my stuff I've won in truck raffles and I traded all the blue-point stuff I won in on snap-on stuff.

It's nice to have a dealer that realized that his tools are expensive and throws in a shirt to ease the pain. I've gotten shirts, sweatshirts, hats, coffee mugs and jackets. I was really hoping on winning the grill recently and was off by 3 ticket numbers

My SO driver treats me really well. I've gotten shirts, hats, sweatshirts, jackets, gloves and even tools. I'm restoring a old toolbox and he got me the casters, slides and trim at no cost. I totally get the value of the driver because I do not buy anything from the other trucks that come to the shop simply because they are a holes. We spend a lot of money for quality tools and it's nice to be appreciated and taken care of. He also gives smoking deals on repo stuff which I buy a lot of.

That is cool your dealers are like that. Do most dealers also give away free stuff/incentives to casual folks (or is it for the guys that spend a certain amount?)? I got a burning hole in my wallet, but I can't locate a driver that would cater to the home DIY'r.

My Mac, Matco, and independent drivers all give free hats every once in awhile.

Also my Mac dealer will give me a Mac Tools hat if I trade in any competitors hats, pocket screwdrivers with every new flyer, T-Shirts and decals as long as we promise to not put them on the Snap-On truck. Then again he gets $150 out of every paycheck from me alone.

Since he started coming around last year my shop spends a lot of money on his truck. So he gives us a lot of free stuff.

I didn't even get a handshake when I bought my toolbox off the Snap-On truck. And my dealer was kind of upset when I paid it off over 2 years early. Seemed like he was getting a kickback off the 19.5% interest rate.

The best free thing I ever got from my Mac dealer was that I ordered $2400 worth of cart, it came in a week earlier than expected so I didn't have the cash on me I was planning on paying in full. So I gave him $200 and he said he'd pick up the rest next week. My grandfather passed the next day and I had to take a week off and spent all the money I was going to buy the cart with. I called him and said I couldn't pay it in full so I'll return it.

He goes no problem. I'll put it on your truck account no interest for a year.

Which is excellent because he usually has a policy of anything on the truck account has to be paid in full in 5 weeks.

My first purchase ever off the truck was 2 ratchets for $190, 2 months ago. I didn't get anything. Two weeks ago, I got a 95th anniversary ratcheting screwdriver and 37 piece bit set for $160. My driver gave me a 95th anniversary t-shirt. Friday, I ordered a breaker bar head for my 3/4" drive 36" ratchet handle for $100. He gave me a 95th anniversary hat. I always pay for my tools at the time of purchase, so I never carry a balance. My driver is a good guy.

My Snap-On guy does that too. I dont wear hats, and I think MOST of the Snap-On shirts look lame so I dont usually take him up on stuff, which actually benefits me. I can get better deals " Hey man I have not gotten a hat or a shirt in forever, how about you hook me up with _______ "

I had a great Snap On guy when I lived in Minnesota! He would give a free winter coat, either hooded or not hooded if you bought any 2 ratchets. I also got a free Blue Point standard ratcheting wrench set for buying the Snap On metric ratcheting wrench set. He would always have some really great deal going on. Once He had a half inch drive ratchet and extensions free if you bought the deep sockets. I really liked Wednesdays back then!
