This is a recent phenomenon, but... Whenever I don't need a tool truck I seem to see 2 or 3 in various locations... but when there's something I want to get from one, they're nowhere to be found. As soon as I make do, ****, there they are again. Used to be I knew that on ** day at ** time the Brand Y truck would be at location Z... :dunno:
You just described my life.

I just emailed snapon yesterday about a tool warranty and locating a local franchisee.

Today I just happened to drive by a truck when I was picking up a part at a dealer.

Needless to say I ended up with an order of tools I should have next week 🙂

Unfortunately for me they won't be going in my box, but my nephew's box as he starts out in the diesel field.

Broke a socket, USA made gearwrench akin to the matco pinless. Last warranty I did with gearwrench took just shy of 1 calendar year. Thus I will be replacing.

Snap on didn't show monday, I know he's been having truck issues. I have a destroyed and wallowed out 17mm universal for him, and a semideep as well, same deal, wallowed all out after 10 years of euro lug bolts. Cornwell came today, and despite their socket having similar dimensions to what I needed, he did not have one in stock. Hopefully it will be in my hands next week.

I spoke to the local SO guy in my area about 3 weeks ago; the shop owner that was working on my car put me in touch with him and he stopped by (without his truck). I told him what I was looking for and he said that he'd leave it with the shop and I could settle up in cash. Here we are 3 weeks later and I ended up placing an online order for $400 because he either didn't take me seriously or is just flakey. I would've rather of paid cash and give the money to a local guy, but this is what I'm dealing with.

That's what i told the SO guy I just met with yesterday. He ended up offering me a pretty generous discount because I'm paying cash. I didn't even ask for one.

We'll see if he has everything for me next week when he stops by again.

Pre-Pandemic, I saw 6-8 Cornwell trucks at a local restaurant one evening. Wish I had a picture.

There's a Snap-On guy who has a couple of friends/customers that live on a street adjacent to me. He stops at their houses at least a couple of times a week.
