Guys, thanks for all the responses......I take all the MAC negativity with a grain of salt.........All the SO whores love SO for obvious reason, they make quality tools, just like all the toolmakers, some cost more, some cost less.

I will disclose 1 price, I saved over $100 on the 12 piece metric ratcheting wrench set, tax set me back over $97. So all you math wizards do the math.

Cheers on taking the brand drama with a grain of salt. You picked up some great tools, and you're happy with them! That's what counts!

I'm still really digging the pick set as others have mentioned, and as for those metric ratcheting wrenches... I'd buy a set in a heart beat at that price!

Guys, thanks for all the responses......I take all the MAC negativity with a grain of salt.........All the SO whores love SO for obvious reason, they make quality tools, just like all the toolmakers, some cost more, some cost less.

All products are not made in the USA, I'm ok with that, knowing I can hunt down any MAC truck and get it replaced.

So for all the haters saying MAC *****, feel free. I have tools from SO, MAC and MATCO.............I'm not biased I buy what works and feels the best in my hand and what I can get for the best price. The majority of my other wrenches are SO, mostly SO screwdrivers, mini and ratcheting.

as much as i dislike mac, it was never about the quality of their tools (US or foriegn made), but it seem like in myarea the dealers leave a lot to be desired.
i also buy what works, my boxes have a large variety of brands, including the dreaded HF :shocking:

everyone that uses tools either for work or as a hobby has their own preferences for what "feels right", it's not up to me to degrade or ridicule anyone for their personal choice in tools.
makes no difference to me if you want a $1000 set of wrenches from SO or a $9 set from HF.

whatever floats your boat.....

it's your hard earned money that you are spending

I have heard much boasting about who is best, SO, MAC, etc. But with most, seems like SO is on top. But who here remembers and bought old logo SO? I have to say they were the genuine SO tools. The tuning fork sound when you hit two wrenches together, the fine chrome, the slimness of the tools...Look at them now, much bulkier, chipping chrome, wrenches at least a 1/4 greater in diameter, crowsfeet that spread under torque, The difference in the old 12v test light vs the new?? wire insulation that dry rots after a couple years and they still demand top dollar. Personally, I am no longer a fan of the new SO

I am under the impression Matco is connected to Stanley too, is that correct?

I just purchased a brand new Gearwrench XL X-Beam 9 peice wrench set from one of the tool distributers on ebay. It arrived in it's shrinkwrap undisturbed. When I opened it up the 3/4 wrench was a MATCO! What's that say? :headscrat
