When you get a tool warranty and it is replace with an updated tool does your tool man try to charge you the difference?

Does your tool man ask you hundred of questions when you try to warranty a tool?

Do you buy broken tools off of e-bay and then get them warranty buy your tool man? Does he give you a hard time about it?

Do you think it should make a difference if you buy a lot of tool or not if he warranty them?

First question: Sears doesn't screw me.

Second question: Sears doesn't screw with me.

Third question, part one: eBay specifically, no, but I have bought broken stuff and warrantied it.

Third question, part two: Sears doesn't screw with me.

Fourth question: Absolutely not. An argument has been made that the warranty was to the original purchaser, which is just retarded. The tool is sold with a lifetime warranty, whoever claims that warranty shouldn't matter in the slightest.

I would advise against that because these tool truck dealers are unpredictable with their warranties and you may wind keeping the broken tool permanently! :eek2:

... they asked me if I had a receipt......

That reminds me of something: make sure you keep your receipts in a zip lock storage bag, because if you don't, these new type plastic receipts will fade out to nothing if you leave them out in the open air.

The easiest and best answer to your questions.

Depends on the driver.
Depends on the district manager.
Depends how much you cry to corporate.

My snap on man is good. he warranties stuff i've bought off eBay, he's even given suggestions on what to buy off eBay that he can warranty easily.

really good guy. very helpful and friendly.

with you guys, when the Snap-on man gives you the specials fliers, how long do they apply for? i asked my guy today and he said as long as he has stock on the van, or you can order it when he gives you the flyer, and you pay that price when he gets it.

I found the auctions that you were referring to. You're right, it's tempting, but not worth the trouble. It just has too much of the less popular stuff like mini levels and clear handle screwdrivers. Now, for around $50 it might be worth the trouble.
