after reading all these tool threads... what is your most favorite tool or piece of machinery that you'd just hate to give up now that you've had it??
for me, it would be my four post lift... how about everyone else??

Well, thats a tough question...
But I think It would be a tie between my benchgrinder/buffer and my metal lathe.

A bench grinder doesn't sound like much, but a good quality one, with plenty of power, is an amazingly handy tool.

Really? The only thing i use hex wrenches for is shock rods and cam belt tensioners. Hex drivers, on the other hand, are used daily.

tough call, although the general air tools statement rings true. i guess i'd have to lump my impact wrenches and swivel/universal sockets together. i got tired of swinging my IR 1/2" impact around and got a nitrocat 3/8" - much lighter and quieter. not quite as much grunt as the 1/2" IR, but a LOT. really loving it.

of course, the 24" breaker bar is fun too

when my shop gets put up in the spring and i finally have a lift, i'm guessing that will trump everything. i hate working on jack stands...

Too true. I have a Bosch electric screwdriver and mini impact gun, love 'em. Great tools and real time/wrist savers. (That impact is powerful too!)

Agree with this, otherwise my most used would be a 1/2 in open/box combo wrench.

Compact 3/8" drive ratchet. I recently got a Wright 3430. I thought 3/8" drive ratchets with a 1/4" handle were just a gimmick, I was wrong.

I have a lot of Allen, torx and other specialty sockets in 3/8" drive only. This makes it easier to get into tight spots.
