Why, I have no idea...
Probably the same reason someone builds a barstool racer, or welds up their own bbq pit, or builds a hot rod, or even just mows their own lawn... like Poltax said, because you can.
Not that I would do it, but have the perfect Craftsman box sitting in the corner that would work for it. But, I have Direct TV, and XM radio in the shop, so not needed.

Sears is just hoping people will go buy a bunch of new boxes to build stuff with. If I had a ton of old boxes laying around I'd build something like this, but I'm not dropping $200+ on new boxes to do this, my car speakers work just fine.

Geez, I couldn't even watch it all. It was like Chong vs. Dorkzilla. Freakin' smoke another one Floyd.
Both of those guys were very hard to watch.
The hat wearing kills me, if it's cold outside that's one thing but a stocking cap asa style is absolutely stupid. I saw a dude wearing one the other day when it 85 degrees out.
Then throw in his fad beard and his dark fake "work denim" and then for me it just becomes hard to watch or listen to them. I'm surprised he wasn't wearing "work gloves."
