Hello all! I just recently set up my garage with my toolboxes and cabinets. One thing I cant seem to find is ideas on layouts of the random tools/cleaning supplies/gloves/air hoses/extension chords/pneumatic tools etc. I see everyones garage galleries and the set up from the outside but not specifically the insides of the cabinets and general storage. Another thing in particular would be the small chemical storage such as loctite, jb weld, glues, dielectric grease, etc. Any ideas and pictures would be awesome!

That looks like an amazing setup to organize things. What cabinets are those? Lista?

To answer your question, I use these on pallet racking with oils, windshield fluid, gallon jugs etc.

I use these racks for most of my spray paints, calking, carb and choke, etc. Not OSHA compliant by any means but convenient.

I like to hang them high up out of the way, the glues and greases that are seldom used.

Those look like some really nice cabinets. LISTA? Do the cabinets have shelving? That can be a good way to make some organization for cleaning supplies. If they don't making a simple wood shelf or bending one from sheet metal wouldn't be too complex.

I've found that simple plastic bins (cheapies from Dollar Store) are great for glues, loctites, etc. if the tubes are leaky, ziplock bag them first.

Cords and pneumatic hoses- do you want them wall mounted our do you move them outside your shop a lot? Reels work great if you aren't going too far.

Those are all solid ideas. Yes they are lista cabinets and vidmar cabinets. they have been an awesome addition and are strong as oxes. The overhead cabinets are just open which has been one of the struggles of figuring out what to put in them. Putting sheet metal cabinets inside of them is actually a really good idea as well.

I bought several small parts bin boxes from harborfreight and removed the yellow tubs for hardware, etc. I then took the boxes themselves and put sanding discs, grinding discs, etc in them. Some of them i made separate genres for I.E. paint supplies. Putting the small tube chemicals in them as well would work.

As far as the hoses, the ultimate goal is to keep everything hidden to give it a clean look. I will eventually move the compressor outside when i add an additional overhand behind the house and then pipe the air lines into the house. So that still leaves extension cords and extra air hoses. i have them at the base of a drawer now but i feel like theres a better option.

Thanks for the input!

Yes they are Lista and Vidmar cabinets. And those bins you linked are also a good idea. I like the simple look of them and it will be great for big jugs. I failed to post all of my storage areas which I will do now. I have a flame retardent cabinet for my aerosols and other various chemicals.

Thanks for the ideas!

Pardon the mess hince the purpose of this thread. I have a total of 4 6’ work benches that im thinking of various purposes for each. such as the shortest one being a sit down work station. The black doored cabinet holds all of my moto gear and the long cabinet above it holds helmets. The chemical cabinet has paints, lubes, various greases, and oils. I want to streamline all of that as well.

I have drawn own the best way to lay all of the workbenches and cabinets out, over and over again and this was the best I could come up with. So any input on changing anything would be solid!

The red toolbox is what holds all of my regular hand tools but i have pretty much outgrown it as well. So Ill be on the prowl for something bigger come black friday.

This is an old Matco top box that I stripped the handles from so i could sand and repaint it. I will more than likely put the small precision type tools and other small things in. Only problem is, it ways a metric ton. I will more than likely place it on my lowest workbench that will kind of be a sit down workstation.

I keep stuff like that in the black plastic trays used for frozen meals at Costco.
