Toolbox for your room?

I've got long Snap-on toolboxes in my garage, but I was thinking of putting a small tool chest in my computer room.

So that I don't have to keep running to the garage to grab cold tools n the winter time. I'll keep most used tools i the house, like screw drivers, socket set, my electronic tools that I don't want to keep in the cold etc...

does anyone already have a similar set up in their house? any pics and recommendations?

Sounds like a good idea. I keep one in my room since i don't have a wife to nag at me. Payed 65 for it since three of the drawers have busted slides.

A 26" Kennedy stack in the bedroom for modeling/hobby tools and supplies.

A handmade box on the bar in the mancave for holding my leatherworking tools.

A few pouches in the house for cheap tools for the family use so they don't touch the good tools in the shop in the basement. (no picture)

I did the exact same thing several yrs ago. I keep all my seconds and expendable tools in garage in my 30 yr old craftsman set-up. Now I tinker a lot and have some spendy speciality tooling I use regularly and needs environmental control. So I bought a wifey-approved nice looking rollaway chest (Stainless Steel Kobalt/lowes) and keep it in my office. Sure it's a light duty box but it looks really nice and will never be subjected to more abuse than the doors being opened/closed.

Would really like another for inside use...

When I was in college and living at home I had my 26" snap on stack in my bedroom. I liked having the tools in the house so i could work on stuff inside. I have since relegated that box to my basement for house repairs and stuff like that. I don't have room in the shop for another tool box.

Well, I certainly have more than one...

1) Upstairs toolbox

2) Downstairs toolsbox

3) Kitchen has it's own toolbox

4) Attached garage has a large toolchest

5) Detached garage has it's own toolchest

6) Tractor/Garden shed has a toolchest

7) And the largest, most complete set is in my wood/metal shop.

I hate having to walk to get tools for a simple repair task and borrowing tools from one box to another is also high on my list of things I don't like... so, I usually end up buying multiples of something so each box has their own set of 'whatever' -- As my wife always says, "when you're dead and gone someone is going to be vary happy receiving your tools!"

Even Better (sorta..?), Still in college. Working out of state this semester and renting a room. This is almost all the space I get. Still have my "new" ancient, big bench grinder and pedestal outside lol gotta make room for them..

If you are referring to my box, it's a fully functioning box. All the draws slide out. I use it as a jewelry box. It's a real snap on box. They call them micro boxes. Ebay is full of them. It's a cool novelty.

I have 2 Snap-on 72" roll cabs and I also had 2 mac-tools tool chest and roll cabs. I have given away one set of mac-tools chest and cab and I also gave away the chest for my other mac-tool roll cab. So now I have a spare mac-tools roll cab, it's about 32" wide and maybe 45" tall and 2.5' deep.

I'm thinking about moving that inside the house, since its already empty and I have no use for it in the garage as I already have my 2 snap-on boxes.

Stainless steel one looks good and its easy to match with most of the furniture people have. Mine is yellow, but It'll go with my room, since there's all types of colorful **** in it.

My room is clean but if I have to look for one thing, it'll be like yours' in a matter of seconds.

I've been looking for a small wooden machinist box to put on my dresser. It would be a good idea to have one in every room.

I found and restored an old wooden machinist tool chest and keep it on my dresser. I lined the drawer sides and bottoms with a heavy wool cloth and it holds all sorts of things, and even a set of small screwdrivers, a couple of forceps and such. I did the same with one for my sister, but I added a grid in one of the drawers to hold rings and lined another drawer with Pacific Cloth to store sterling jewelry.

I've been looking for a small wooden machinist box to put on my dresser. It would be a good idea to have one in every room.

i have a mismatched 26" set in reloading/work room in the basement.

machinst tools in the top, and misc hardware and a few tools in the roller cab.

i use an old SO side box as the support for my DIY'd computer desk.
it has a few office type supplies in it.

I have a couple.

I have 2 top and bottom boxes of the mini KR60's (Like 3ft high)
Then a Harley edition mini KR60 top box on the one dresser.

I also have a bunch of snap on mini boxes.
