Hello all ye of much knowledge
I need some help finding a toolbox with some particular dimensions. I go on service trips for a week at a time and carry a lot of expensive parts. For this reason we have lockable roll covers on the truck boxes. Unfortunately this means the maximum toolbox height I can fit in there is 19.25". Until now we've been searching high and low and getting crappy, odd-ball boxes that will fit. I've had a Mastercraft, Husky and International so far, none lasting longer than 6 months.
The biggest problem is they are all 26" boxes and I am simply trying to carry too much stuff in them. I am a heavy equipment mechanic but my job also entails precision electronics so I have to have everything from 3/4" stuff down to miniature torx. I already pack a lot of stuff (big hammers, 3/4" set etc)seperately, but I think I could carry most of what I reasonably need in a 40" box. I realise I could take multiple boxes but I prefer to stick with a single box solution.
I'm working on trying to get a service body truck, or at the least a different box cover type, with a couple of inches of rise to it. In the meantime, does anyone have a lead on a 40" box shorter than 19.25"? I would prefer a good quality box if possible as it also serves as my top box when I'm based at the shop.
EDIT: OK I guess I'll start. Here's one: http://www.pronto.com/Waterloo-Industries-WI1511BK-Pro-Series-10305406695-CG
Let me know what you think. Seems kinda crappy to me.
