I picked this out of the trash today. Wondering if anyone can help id it or age it? No markings, no maker marks..... HELP!
Yes, it's a Craftsman. That style dates to the late 1960s-early 1970s.
It should be stamped in the top compartment far left hand side. The missing badge went on the bottom drawer, left hand side, where the two holes are.

Waterloo made Sears Craftsman, probably early 1970s based on the style of the carry handle on the side. The earlier ones were screwed in with three screws, later ones like you have there.
The date is stamped in the top floor of the chest, left side. It says something like "2-72, Made in USA" It's often very faint, so clean it very good and it should be there.
This was an excellent find. I too found the same cabinet in 2003 also thrown out. That one was from 1968, so I know yours is newer.
Early versions had an all metal Craftsman emblem, later ones, the plastic as shown in the other post. Search this forum for "Ponchoguy's Curbside Garage" and you'll see one of my sets.
So you would have an emblem available to match this box?
Did all this issue box have a removable tray for top shelf that sat in there? And if so does anyone have a photo of just the tray?
I have one or two out in the garage somewhere.

That's when you know you have a problem. Not sure of quantity or location.![]()

anyone have a picture of the tote tray it would have held?
