This appears to be old enough to have friction slides but looks like it's good quality. What is a fair price for this? Asking price is 2k, but seems like perhaps 1k ish is more reasonable. Am i right? Maybe this is a KRL?

This is in Texas, but at the end of the day, it's worth what someone will pay I guess. It's not selling at 1800.

Price new and get sticker shock. Looks to be in good shape. Probably not too far off
You think 1800 is a good price? Serious question, I have no issue paying a fair price. It does appear to be friction slides. Doesn't bother me, in some cases I prefer them on my crooked *** shop floor. HAHAH

I don't think you'll get it for a grand, nor do I think the seller will get his $1800.
The trouble for the seller is you can buy brand new similar size boxes from HF that are all shiny and new with ball bearing drawers for that much money. I doubt many of these HF boxes that see pro service(as nearly all SO boxes do) will be kicking around in forty years.
Those look to be in really good shape so if the drawers work well they represent very good value somewhere in the middle. I'd be putting cash in front of the seller.

personally ill take a box with good friction slides over the run-of-the -mill roller slides any. day.
i worked out of friction slide boxes just like the OP posted from '86 to '04 (in a heavy eq shop) and have had 1 set of slides replaced. sometime this year i'll be moving out of a service truck and back into a shop to finish out my years before retirement
