I'm looking for a new tool box for my growing home tool collection. I'm trying to keep it fairly cheap, and I have no loyalty to any brand as long as it is decent quality stuff.

On my Local CL I came across these two boxes. Can someone who knows more than me comment on what model the boxes might be and if they would be worth the money?

1. Cornwell $300 http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/tls/2758663864.html

2. Snap-On No real details or picture, Hope to get that tomorrow and update post.

Thanks for your opinions

That Cornwell box looks like a steal...literally. I've never seen a box like that for less than $800. I'd get the serial number, verify with Cornwell there isn't money owed on it, and if not, go get it. A lot of people on here will tell you to forget that, but I wouldn't feel right about buying stolen property.

Cornwell makes a solid box. For $300 I would be all over that box (as a fellow buckeye) if I had room for it. As for the Snap-On, that's not a bad price either. Both are solid deals, provided the Snappy isn't a total basket case.

The Cornwell is probably long gone. Looks legit (surroundings and all) but check it out. Sounds too good to be true. Snap-On is probably gone already too.

If these two are representative of the CL in your area, you should have no problem finding something else.

That Cornwell is a steal. The Snap-On listing sounds too good to be true; since no pics in the posting it almost sounds like a con, or someone having fun posting random nonsense and harvesting emails.

i'd go for the SO if it's in good shape.
some people have "issues" with used tools and toolboxes.......

Both ads are sold as I expected, I will keep looking. . . I really don't want a US General Harbor Freight Special, even though from what I've read they are decent boxes for the money, especially for the amount of use, or lack there of, it will get in my garage.
