Believe it or not, I also get my share of negatives... Can't please everyone. :headscrat

not trying to stir the pot, but WHY would anyone ever talk negatively about that box? harbour freight nazis? even then, THEY may not spend money on quality tools, but why would they talk smack about them..

Allot of companies require shadowing, it really helps with production, quality and setting up work stations etc. Companies like GE use 6-Sigma, I work for UTC and we use 5-S both systems are used on the production floor, the front office, maintenance and even the service guys. I'll admit that it is a pain in the backside to get it implemented, but once you do, the results are amazing. Even worse, you'll notice that you start to set up your home too.

looks like the same model as my box, only a color I've never seen... is that a matte finish or is it gloss?

I don't know about the other guys here, but sometimes I get tired of looking at those mega threads.... it's nice to start a fresh one every once in a while.

Agreed. Reading something that has 771 replies gets old.

Can you explain how exactly you did the shadowing process?

Flat black, with custom ordered anodized red trim.. here's my box thread.. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101267

1/4'' red foam on the bottom, 1/2'' thick black foam on top.. trace tools, then cut out... a hot knife makes it a breeze, especially for more intricate stuff...
I'll post some pics of my field box tomorrow, need to take some pics now that it's finished.... it's a pelican 0450 that is fully shadowed also

oh yeah, I used to try to keep up with this thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135295

It's currently at post # 59762.
At a prior employer i once cut up some soft foam with a razor blade to shadow my toolbox. It was time consuming but worth it in the end. I'e never done it on my personal tool box because the contents seem to always change.
